Saila Behera who is 35 years old and is physically disabled. S he can not walk properly because her two legs are affected by polio from birth. Her family members were very happy as she appeared to be a normal and healthy baby. When she turned 1 year old, she was unable to walk properly. This devastated her parents. Her lower body does not function well. She did not avail any kind of assistance neither from Govt. nor from any private sector.  Her parents income is from hand to mouth and not possible to meet the both end. Even in this condition with much difficulties they managed to spent INR Rs 1,50.000/- ($ 22.73) towards her treatment but did not fulfil their dream. which causes extreme despair to her family members. Now her parents are seeking for the sustainable and long run income source relevant to her situation.

About Vishwa Jyoti

‘VISHWA JYOTI’ is a registered organization to serve the poor and marginalised in the society Formed by a group of like-minded people whose heart beats for the poorest of the poor,destitute, orphans, widows, widowers and the neglected of the society. However, the organization is working among the poor mostly,in the rural areas including several indigenous people groups living in remote parts of the country in Odisha and beyond including the Himalayan the belt since 1979. However Vishwa Jyoti came to the lime light only after its registration under the society registration Act of the government of India as Vishwa Jyoti in 1994 and has ever since been serving among the poor and leading them from darkness, towards the light of knowledge, awareness and self-reliance.
